Yes. HAY! Straws are plastic‑free, PFAS‑free, and made from natural plant stems, making them compliant with many regional plastic reduction laws.

Certifications include USDA BioPreferred (100% biobased reed straws and bamboo cutlery), BPI compostable (Original wheat stem straws, coffee lids), and independent lab testing for PFAS and food‑contact safety.

Unlike paper, they do not get soggy. Unlike PLA, they contain no plastic binders and won’t melt in hot drinks. Unlike plastic, they are compostable and made from real plant stems.

Original wheat stem straws break down in about 42 days in commercial compost. Reed Jumbo and Slim straws decompose in approximately 60–120 days depending on conditions.

Original straws are made from wheat stems and best for thinner drinks. Jumbo Collection straws are made from reed stems and come in Slim (5–6.5mm), Jumbo (6.5–8.5mm), and Boba (10–13mm) diameters for thicker beverages.
